DELIVERY
DRIVER.
COACH.
DiAnnah Jones, founder of Grind N Glow. Based in Durham, NC. Coaches online and in person.
I started my fitness journey in 2021 as a college freshman. I was an athlete in high school — basketball, track, the whole deal — and when I got to college, the structure disappeared. I lost the team, the schedule, the dining hall food I knew. I lost the gains too.
At 150 pounds and skinny, I stopped wanting photos taken. I'd look in the mirror and not recognize the person looking back. Most people read that and think "oh, she was always going to find fitness." I wasn't. I was a kid who didn't know what came next.
"I lost all my gains after high school. I knew I had to build something back — not for anybody else. For me."
Six to twelve months after I picked the bar up, I was 190 pounds and looked like the person I knew I was. There was no magic. No supplement stack. No coach. I went on the bad days. I came back the next day. I went again.
I tracked one thing at a time. First it was just sleep. Then it was protein. Then it was the lifts. I didn't try to fix everything at once. Most people fail because they try to overhaul their whole life on a Sunday night and quit on a Wednesday morning.
That's the framework I run on every client now. It's not sexy. It's not viral. It works.
I'm still a delivery driver. That's not the part of the bio coaches usually share. I keep that job on purpose. It keeps me in the same world my clients live in — long shifts, eating in the truck, tired feet, real bills.
People started asking me what I was doing in the gym. Then they started asking me to write programs. Then friends-of-friends. Then strangers. I made it official because I realized I wasn't just training people. I was being the person nobody had been for me at 150 pounds — the one who picks up the phone and says "you got it, come on pick it up."
That's what Grind N Glow is. A safe, motivating space where people can grind, grow, and glow through fitness. Not a brand voice. A real thing I run.
No 30-day
promises.
No bro-science.
No theatre.
If you've been sold a 6-week shred, you know the routine — you pay, you lose ten pounds in water, you gain twelve back. I will not do that to you. I work in 3–8 month windows because that is the only timeline that is honest.
“You got it.
Come on, pick it up.
Don't quit now.
You've gotten this far —
ain't no reason for you to stop now.
You got this. Come on.”
I'm louder on the wins.
People assume because I'm direct, I'm cold. I'm not. I'm one of the biggest cheerleaders you'll ever have. I will text you on a Wednesday at 9 p.m. when you hit a PR. I will hype your form check video like it's a movie trailer. I will tell you when I'm proud of you, and I will mean it.
Surgical on the plan. Loud on the wins. That's the whole formula.
